Parish Nurse Video Series- 2018
January: Rev. Dan P. Gilbert, President, Northern Illinois District, LCMS will present “Confidentiality, Proverbs 11:13b”.
February: Jennie E. Johnson, RN-BC, PhD, Parish Nurse at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum, Idaho, will present information for the parish nurse to promote heart health within the congregation.
March: Rev. Dr. Daniel Paavola, theology professor at Concordia University Wisconsin and former pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut, WI will present ideas from his book on the Lord’s Prayer, Our Way Home.
April: Janice (Jamie) Spikes, PhD, RN, member of the LCMS Parish Nurse Council, will present information for parish nurses interested in providing ministry to persons as they “experience cancer” either as a patient or a family member.
June: John D. Eckrich, M.D., a retired practicing physician and currently the founder of Grace Place Wellness Ministries will present “Fear, Anxiety, and Wellness: Journey to a Heart at Peace”.
July: Rev. Dr. Steven Hokana is Chaplain, Lietenant Colonel, USA (Ret.), D. Min, BCc who serves as Assistant Director, Ministry of Armed Forces for the LCMS will present “Reaching out and caring for Veterans”.
August: Ronda Anderson (Parish Nurse District Representative for Iowa-East) and Janet Hitzeman (Parish Nurse District co-Representative for Indiana) will join together to present helpful information for parish nurses wishing to initiate or enhance exercise programs in their congregation.
September: A clergy, yet to be identified, will present on the two Kingdoms with implications for parish nurses. Watch for further information.
October: Karen Hardecopf, RN will present on “Ministerial Care and Parish Nurses” based on her experiences as a member of the Ministerial Care Coalition and as a parish nurse in her home congregation.
November: A clergy, yet to be identified, will present on the Office of the Keys with implications for parish nurses. Watch for further information.
December: Marcia (Marcy) Schnorr, EdD, RN-BC will present “Parish Nurses—Service to, by, and with Seniors” based on thirty years serving her home congregation, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rochelle, IL.
