India - LPNI

In July 2012 The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the India Evangelical Lutheran Church collaborated in offering a parish nurse course.  The course was provided under the leadership of Marcia Schnorr, EdD, RN, (Coordinator for LCMS Parish Nursing). Seventeen nurses affiliated with the Bethesda Lutheran Hospital in Ambur, India in the Tamil-Nadir province completed the course and were dedicated by Rev. J. Samuel, President of the IELC.  Ms. S. Suganthi Kumar, RN, MSN (Principal, School of Nursing at Bethesda Hospital) was named Coordinator for the Indian parish nurses and will continue to facilitate networking among the group.
